Sheffield UK, April 30, 2024 – Swedish clean energy-tech champion, Aira, has officially opened the doors to its new training academy in Sheffield to close the green skills gap by developing the best-in-class heat pump installers and renewable technicians. 

London, UK – March 12, 2024. Swedish clean energy-tech champion, Aira is today launching the Aira Heat Pump, complete with the latest smart technology to take Europe off gas and accelerate the electrification of home heating.

Stockholm, Sweden – 16 January 2024. Today, Aira announces the completion of a €145 million Series B financing round with leading climate tech investors from Europe, the US and Asia. The financing was significantly oversubscribed and upsized from its initial €85 million target. The transaction was led by Altor, Kinnevik and Temasek. The equity funding will allow Aira to further accelerate the electrification of residential heating in Europe to enable European households to reduce their energy bills, to drive decarbonisation, and to reduce dependency on imports of natural gas. 

A new report from clean energy-tech company, Aira, has revealed that Brits are considering alternative heating solutions, such as heat pumps, to combat rising energy costs and the cost-of-living crisis. Heat pumps are known to reduce home energy costs for Brits by 25% and household carbon emissions by at least 75%. 

Aira’s mission is to help one million UK customers switch from gas boilers to a clean energy-tech solution over the next decade.

• Aira heat pumps are forecast to reduce UK families’ heating related costs by 25% and instantly lower CO₂ emissions by 75%, rising to 100% with green electricity.
• The ambition is to hire 8,000 employees over the next decade and to establish a series of Aira Academies across the UK to train the next generation of Clean Energy Experts. 
• The introduction of a monthly payment model with zero upfront cost will ensure heat pumps are affordable and accessible for households in the UK.
